Meet Dr. Palmaccio

Education and Continuing Education

Dr. Palmaccio received his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and his Master of Science degree in Molecular Biology from Long Island University, C.W. Post College. He received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Columbia University, College of Dental Medicine. He subsequently completed a one year General Practice Residency  at New York Presbyterian Queens Hospital formerly Booth Memorial Hospital followed by his postdoctoral certificate in Periodontics from Temple University, Maurice H. Kornberg School of Dentistry.

Dr. Palmaccio is a former attending and head of Periodontics within the dental department at Wyckoff Heights Medical Center and a visiting lecturer at Interfaith Medical Center.

Professional Experience

Dr. Palmaccio has been practicing Periodontics and Dental Implantology since 1991 and continues to expand his knowledge and expertise through numerous continuing education courses. He is the sole provider of all care within his office and truly enjoys making a difference in his patients’ lives and overall health. He continually reinvests within his office which allows him to provide patients with the latest and best innovations regarding the care he provides. He strives to ensure you are fully aware of his findings and able to make informed treatment decisions best suited for you. Providing patients with care they want and need in a safe, comfortable and stress free environment is of utmost importance to him.

Dr. Palmaccio has been in private practice since completing his specialty training and opened Woodbury Periodontics, P.C. in April, 1996. He is very involved in organized dentistry and currently serves as a Trustee for the New York State Dental Association. Additionally, he is a past President of the Nassau County Dental Society and currently serves as a member of its Executive board. Dr. Palmaccio is an active member of the American Dental Association where he serves as a Delegate representing the New York State Dental Association and maintains membership within the American Academy of Periodontology, the Pierre Fauchard Academy and Long Island Academy of Odontology. He is a past Chairman of the Greater Long Island Dental Meeting and continues to serve on its board.

Family Life

Dr. Palmaccio was born in Brooklyn and raised in Mineola, NY. He lives on Long Island with his wife Bonnie, a Speech Language Pathologist and they have two children, Jeffrey and Lindsay.

Dr. Palmaccio enjoys traveling and spending time with family and friends.
